The demand comes after Arnaud Montebourg, minister for industrial renewal, and Michele Delaunay, minister for the elderly, revealed that they were creating a new sector entitled the "Silver Economy".
In future, "all companies working with or for the elderly" will fall under this heading, they said.
The Silver Economy, a reference to greying hair, will focus on the needs of the elderly and the growth in jobs that come with this. "In 2035, a third of France will be over 60, more than 20m people," the ministers said.
However, the move has angered Mr Ayrault, who wrote a letter to members of the government stating that the French language was more than capable of accurately describing policies.
He wrote: "Since the Ordinance of Villers-Cotterets, which in 1539 made French the language of administration and justice, to the registration in 1992 in our Constitution the provision that "the language of the Republic is French", our country is built in close relation to the French language

Mgogoro kuhusu mahakama Misri kutatuliwa

 29 Aprili, 2013 - Saa 13:28 GMT

Rais Mohammed Morsi

Fear and fundamentalism as the 'modesty police' patrol Gaza

Police in Gaza have arrested at least 41 men on charges of immodesty this April, writes Phoebe Greenwood. And now the city is gripped with fear that Hamas is driving the population towards militant Islamic fundamentalism.

It's three weeks since his arrest but Ismail Halou still has streaks of purple bruising on the soles of his feet. The 22 year-old was filling cars at his family's petrol station in Gaza City at 5pm on April 4th when a black jeep pulled into the forecourt, plain-clothed police stepped out and ordered him into the car. He was blindfolded and driven to the nearest police station.
"I could hear the screams of people being beaten in the rooms next to me. Two men held my legs down and tied them together on a wooden board then they beat the soles of my feet with a plastic rod. They beat me for at least five minutes. I was crying and screaming with agony. It was the worst pain I've ever felt," Mr Halou recalls.
It was only after the beating that police officers set to work trying to shave off the one-inch fin of gelled hair that was the cause of his arrest.
"At no point did they tell me why they had arrested me. I found out from neighbours when I got home that it was because of my hair," Mr Halou explains, running a hand over the fuzzy regrowth on his head. He could not walk for three days after his release.

Army says no to more tanks, but Congress insists

WASHINGTON (AP) — Built to dominate the enemy in combat, the Army's hulking Abrams tank is proving equally hard to beat in a budget battle.
Lawmakers from both parties have devoted nearly half a billion dollars in taxpayer money over the past two years to build improved versions of the 70-ton Abrams.
But senior Army officials have said repeatedly, "No thanks."
It's the inverse of the federal budget world these days, in which automatic spending cuts are leaving sought-after pet programs struggling or unpaid altogether. Republicans and Democrats for years have fought so bitterly that lawmaking in Washington ground to a near-halt.
Yet in the case of the Abrams tank, there's a bipartisan push to spend an extra $436 million on a weapon the experts explicitly say is not needed.
"If we had our choice, we would use that money in a different way," Gen. Ray Odierno, the Army's chief of staff, told The Associated

Viini sugu vya Malaria vyagunduliwa

 29 Aprili, 2013 - Saa 09:08 GMT

Mmbu wanaosababisha Malaria
